Subject: Comfort/Comfortable Part 4 of 5
In God's plan for us, is there any place for comfort?
Bible Reading: 2 Corinthians, chapter 1
Key verse from the Bible: Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in
all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any
trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the
sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.
And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is
effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or
whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. –– 2 Cor
1:3-6
Life is full of trials and tribulations, yet God provides us comfort despite
them. The questions is, "Does the giving of comfort mean that God will take away
every trial and tribulation?" The more one meditates on the ways of God, the
more one will realize God has never worked this way. God allows these trials for
reasons dependent on where you stand in the their own Salvation Process. He uses
them to direct in the way we should go. Despite this, He will give us comfort to
endure them. His Word if full of encouragement, strength and hope, which we can
invoke and therefore turn the trial into an asset that will build our character
and move us forward.
Never allow a trial or difficulty to get you down. Focus on God first and then
the trial. Understand that you are never alone in the trial and that a portion
of His comfort will be getting you through it. The more you mature in your
Salvation Process, the more you will be able to help others as they go through
their hardships.
